Conference 2:
paris good fashion
 5 year anniversary

The second conference was held on 23 January 2024 and focused on the Paris Good Fashion 5th Anniversary.

More than 200 attendees including Paris Good Fashion members, students from IFM and environmental enthusiasts gathered in the IFM Auditorium.

Focusing on the leading companies within the French fashion industry, this conference showed the importance of all players coming together and focusing on one goal: a sustainable future in Paris.

The conference started with introductory words by Xavier Romatet, Director of Institut Français de la Mode, and Sylvie Bénard, President of Paris Good Fashion, who highlighted three pillars: innovation as the entry point to sustainability, the crucial role of experimentation, the need to practice sustainability and the collective work of finding scalable solutions together.

The conference continued with group presentations from The Comittee For Ever Young which combines industry professionals under 30 years of age working with the goal of sustainable development in Paris. This was also enhanced by the strong connection between IFM and Paris Good Fashion members, thus showing the importance of developing a more sustainable future through the younger generation of professionals.

The conference featured an awards ceremony for The Green Store & Building Challenge that highlighted brands focusing on making their stores and offices more environmentally friendly. The laureates were chosen by the Paris Good Fashion and LVMH representatives with Chloé winning the Corner Grands Magasins category, Le Bon Marché - Grand Magasins, Loewe – Magasins sur rue, and Vestiaire Collective – Bureaux category. The awards ceremony is an important initiative for the sustainability managers of the member companies as it creates an incentive to push their work even further for their community, thus creating a fostering environment for the Parisian landscape and enhancing a hopeful future.

The conference also announced the upcoming jury for the Grand Prix 2024, the 3rd edition of the collaborative award between Paris Good Fashion x Eyes on Talents, focusing on inclusive design in partnership with APF France handicap and presented a sustainable fashion photography exhibition in the lobby of Institut Français de la Mode.

With the shared experiences from different associations and companies, it was clear that the members of PGF are keen on learning and sharing their experiences with peers and thus educating and influencing other members in the meantime.
